It is the intent of the Saginaw Hall of Fame to recognize the accomplishments of many men and women - great and near-great - who could, at one time in their careers call the Saginaw, Michigan area their home.
Their acheivements came in all endeavors with some gaining national and international recognition. Fame, for some, was confined more closely to home. However, the common thread for all was the distinction it brought to this community.
While the Hall of Fame, founded in 1964, seeks to honor and perpetuate the memory of these outstanding people, there is also a desire to stimulate aspiration among those who might turn to this website and our printed collection. For aspiration is the parent of those twins for success-ambition and accomplishment. And, if this collection of honorees could "kindle the fire on a frozen hearth" perhaps names for some future inclusion in The Saginaw Hall of Fame may result.
Nominations, due July 31st of every year, are invited from all sectors of the community. There are no reservations, save for an inflexible qualification for membership that all candidates have passed the third anniversary of their death.
Inductees are chosen by confidential ballot by the Hall of Fame Officers and Board of Directors. Identification of those selected are announced by the media, followed by a suitable induction ceremony to which relatives and friends of the inductees, as well as general public are invited to attend.
